Rajinikanth’s blockbuster sequel, Jailer 2, is on track to become the first Tamil film ever to gross ₹70 crore in Kerala. After ten days of theatrical release, the film has already pulled in more than ₹67 crore in the state, according to film‑industry tracker AB George. The tracker posted the figure on X at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, 25 October, noting that the Nelson Dilipkumar‑directed action comedy is positioned at 14th among the highest‑grossing releases in Kerala’s box‑office history.
The latest numbers arrive as Jailer 2 enters its 11th day in theatres. Sunday collections are still being tallied, and the final day‑11 total could bring the film close to the ₹70 crore milestone. The production house has not yet confirmed the projected figure, and the figures should be treated as trade estimates.
Jailer 2, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is the sequel to the 2023 Tamil film Jailer. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, the film opened worldwide on 15 October 2026. Rajinikanth reprises his role as the retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, joined by Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik who return from the first film. The cast is bolstered by S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan, with cameo appearances from Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Jackie Shroff, Vijay Sethupathi and Vinayakan.
Anirudh Ravichander composed the music, Vijay Kartik Kannan handled cinematography, and R. Nirmal was in charge of editing. Sun Pictures backed the production, and the film’s Kerala gross is now reported to be above ₹67 crore after ten days. The next target for the film is the ₹70 crore mark, which will be confirmed once the final Sunday figures for day 11 are released or if the film needs additional days in theatres to reach the milestone.
