New OTT Releases: Cocktail 2, Don't Say Good Luck, and More; Arriving on Netflix and ZEE5

On August 14, a fresh wave of original content will hit two of India’s leading streaming platforms, offering audiences a blend of romance, drama, thriller, and documentary storytelling. Netflix will debut the Hindi sequel Cocktail 2 and the English teen drama Don’t Say Good Luck, while ZEE5 will launch the 26/11 survival thriller Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. A day earlier, on August 13, Netflix will stream the Spanish documentary A Child Of My Own, adding a global perspective to the lineup.

Cocktail 2 revisits the love triangle that captivated viewers in the original 2012 film, but this time it centres on a new trio. The story follows Kunal and Diya, who have been together long enough for friends and family to anticipate their wedding, yet both hesitate to take the plunge. A getaway to Sicily is meant to give them space, but Diya’s unexpected reunion with Ally sparks a chain of events that spirals into a tangled emotional mess. The film explores how a seemingly innocent test of loyalty turns into a dangerous game of temptation, leaving all three characters ensnared in a complicated web of feelings.

The second Netflix title, Don’t Say Good Luck, follows 15‑year‑old Sophie, played by Sunny Sandler, as she lands the lead role in her school musical. The role feels like the breakthrough she has been yearning for, but her world turns upside down when she learns that her mother’s cancer has returned. Sophie must juggle the demands of rehearsals and performances while carrying the heavy emotional load of her family’s crisis, creating a poignant narrative about resilience and ambition in the face of adversity.

On ZEE5, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata brings the harrowing events of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to the screen, with Kangana Ranaut headlining the cast. The film, set in 2026, dramatises the real‑life heroics of medical staff at Cama and Albless Hospitals who risked their lives to safeguard nearly 400 patients during the attacks. By focusing on the bravery of doctors, nurses, and support teams, the thriller offers a gripping look at the human spirit amid chaos.

Just a day before the August 14 releases, Netflix will feature A Child Of My Own, a documentary by Chilean filmmaker Maite Alberdi. The film follows Alejandra, who, under intense societal pressure to become a mother, fabricates a pregnancy to meet expectations. As the lie grows more elaborate, it spirals into a public scandal that captures national attention. The documentary examines how a personal deception can evolve into a media frenzy, highlighting the intersection of private struggle and public scrutiny.
